Hunting Participant Requirements

- Active Appropriate
License or NC Hunting Preserve License
- Eye & Ear protection must be used at all times
- Game must be tagged and registered before leaving the preserve
Rules / Guidelines at Anderson Creek
- No alcohol or drug use permitted
- Follow Firearm Safety Guidelines
- Dress code compliant to NC Wildlife Commission Regulations
including 'hunter orange'
- We would like all people to use and enjoy our facilities. We
strive to keep a green & clean environment for our farm animals
and hunting guests and ask all visitors to please clean up after
themselves.
Shooting Safety Tips
- Treat every firearm with the same respect due a loaded firearm.
- Control
the direction of your firearm's muzzle. Carry your firearm safely,
keeping the safety on until ready to shoot.
- Identify your target and what is beyond it. Know the identifying
features of the game you hunt.
- Be sure the barrel and action are clear of obstruction and
that you have only ammunition of the proper size for the firearm
you are carrying.
- Unload firearm when not in use. Leave the actions
open. Firearms should be carried empty in cases to and from
shooting area.
- Never point a firearm at anything you do not want to shoot.
Avoid all horseplay with a firearm.
- Never climb fence or tree, or jump a ditch or log with a loaded
firearm. Never pull a firearm toward you by the muzzle.
- Never shoot a bullet at a flat, hard surface or water. During
target practice be sure your backstop is adequate.
- Store firearms and ammunition separately beyond the reach of
children and careless adults.
- Avoid alcoholic beverages or other mood altering drugs before
or while shooting.

Learning Opportunities
We offer shooting / gun handling education and hunting etiquette
for those who are inexperienced. We are a family friendly facility
dedicated to promoting agriculture and wildlife management to all ages
and levels of experience.
